  • Pittville Pump Room is owned by Cheltenham Borough Council and managed by the Cheltenham Trust.
  • The agreement between the Council and the Trust includes a clause which requires the Pump Room to be open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm, events permitting.
  • Described by Historic England as the finest building in Cheltenham, the Pump Room is the only Grade I listed building in the town which is in public ownership.
  • Until recently it was also the last remaining place where visitors could “take the waters” and sample the mineral water which is the basis for Cheltenham’s growth and prosperity as a spa town. Unfortunately the water has been unavailable for some time.
  • The Pump Room enjoys a magnificent setting within Pittville Park, the only park in Gloucestershire to have been awarded Green Heritage Site accreditation.
  • We believe that Cheltenham’s most important heritage building should be preserved, developed, interpreted and promoted in a way that acknowledges its Grade I listed status and its important place in Cheltenham’s history.
